How do I reach Havelock?
Fly to Port Blair, then a government or private ferry of roughly 90 minutes to two hours. Book the ferry in advance in season — it sells out and there is no other way across.
Do Indian nationals need a permit for the Andamans?
No, though foreign nationals need a permit issued on arrival at Port Blair. Some islands remain restricted to everyone.
When is diving best?
December to April for visibility. The monsoon months from June to September see many operators close and ferries cancelled.
