The apostille comes from the Hague Convention of 1961. India has been a member since 2005. Once a document carries the apostille sticker from the Ministry of External Affairs, every other member country accepts it directly — the embassy step disappears entirely.

The document is first authenticated at the issuing state — the education department for certificates, the Home department or SDM for personal documents, a chamber of commerce for commercial ones.

Timelines and fees depend on the document, the issuing state and the destination — so we quote them for your exact case rather than publish a number that may have moved. What stays the same is how we handle your originals: collected, tracked and returned with every stamp checked.

Processing time

Driven by the document type, whether state pre-authentication is needed, and the destination mission’s own queue. We give you a realistic, dated estimate for your specific documents before you commit — and flag anything that could extend it. We don’t promise a fixed number of days, because the authorities set that, not us.

Fees

Two parts: the government, embassy or chamber fee, as applicable, and our service fee. Both appear on a single written estimate, with no hidden charges, and you approve it before we begin. Statutory fees are set by the authority and can change; we confirm the current figure for your case.

Pickup & delivery

Doorstep document pickup and insured return across major Indian cities, and secure tracked courier elsewhere. Your original documents are logged at handover, so there is a clear record of what we hold from the moment they leave your hands until they are back in them.

Tracking

What is an apostille?

An apostille is a standardised certificate issued under the Hague Convention of 1961. Once a document carries an apostille from the country that issued it, every other member country accepts it without any further embassy legalisation.

Who issues the apostille in India?

In India the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is the sole Competent Authority for apostille. It is affixed as a unique, computer-generated sticker after the document has been authenticated at the state level.

Apostille or embassy attestation — which do I need?

If your destination country is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, an apostille is enough on its own. If it is not a member, you need MEA attestation followed by that country's embassy attestation. We confirm which route applies to your destination before we begin.

Does the MEA verify my original document?

No. The MEA apostilles on the basis of a prior authentication by the relevant state authority (education department, Home department / SDM, or chamber of commerce). That pre-authentication is part of the chain we manage for you.

Do you handle documents from any state?

Yes. Because pre-authentication happens at the issuing state, the exact route depends on where your document was issued. We confirm the correct state chain for your document at the start.
