Good to know
Important information
- •The Triund trek is a moderate full-day hike (~9 km each way with real ascent) — rewarding for the reasonably fit, but we offer gentler alternatives and will help you judge honestly.
- •The Dalai Lama's public teachings draw large crowds on certain dates (and he travels) — we advise on timings but cannot arrange audiences.
- •March–June and September–November are the best windows; the monsoon (Jul–Aug) brings heavy rain and landslip risk on Kangra roads.
- •Gaggal (Kangra) airport has limited, weather-sensitive flights; Pathankot rail is the reliable alternative.
- •Carry warm layers year-round — evenings are cold, and higher walks colder still.

Questions
Package FAQs
Can we meet or see the Dalai Lama?
You can visit his temple complex and, on certain dates, attend public teachings (which get very crowded) — but he travels often and private audiences are not something we can arrange. We advise on the teaching calendar for your dates.
Is the Triund trek compulsory?
Not at all — it is optional. It is a wonderful moderate day-hike for the fit, but there are gentler walks (Bhagsu, Naddi, Dharamkot) for those who'd rather. We tailor the day to your party.
Is it good for families and couples?
Both — it is walkable, cultural, café-rich and unhurried, with easy sights for families and a romantic, laid-back feel for couples. Only the Triund trek needs real fitness.
When should we go?
March–June for spring and clear snow views, September–November for crisp autumn air. Avoid the July–August monsoon for rain and road risk.
