A meadow at 2,650 metres that becomes India's main ski resort in winter. The gondola is the draw in either season and runs in two phases — the second, to Apharwat at nearly 4,000 metres, is the one worth queuing for and is frequently closed by weather. Most visitors come as a day trip from Srinagar, which works, though a night here means reaching the gondola before the day-trip crowd arrives.
