Chilika, the largest brackish-water lagoon in Asia, is a vast, shimmering expanse dotted with islands where the Daya river meets the Bay of Bengal. Winter brings enormous flocks of migratory birds to Mangalajodi and Nalabana, and its resident Irrawaddy dolphins near Satapada are a rare draw, both best seen by boat.
