Lachung is a scenic mountain village in remote North Sikkim, the base for the celebrated Yumthang Valley — the "valley of flowers" — which blazes with rhododendrons in spring, and for the high Zero Point near the Tibet frontier. Reached on a permit-controlled road of waterfalls and gorges, it is one of Sikkim's most spectacular corners.
