Bundi is a blue-washed old town beneath a rambling hillside fort, famous for the intricate Rajput murals of its palace and for its many stepwells. Quieter and less commercialised than Rajasthan’s bigger cities, it was a favourite of Rudyard Kipling and remains one of the state’s most atmospheric small towns.
