Jodhpur is a one-fort city and that fort is the best in Rajasthan. Mehrangarh rises directly out of rock above the blue houses and the museum inside is genuinely well curated rather than a collection of dusty cases. One night is workable if you arrive early; two is better because the blue city lanes below the fort deserve a morning of their own and most people underestimate how long they will want to spend in them. The clock tower market in the evening is the other half of the city.
