About this trip
A tight, two-day introduction to the capital that treats New Delhi and Old Delhi as the two halves they really are. The first day keeps to Lutyens' New Delhi — the ceremonial avenue of Kartavya Path, India Gate, the Rashtrapati Bhavan and Parliament seen from the outside, then the Qutub Minar and Humayun's Tomb before the Lotus Temple at dusk. The second belongs to Mughal Old Delhi — the Red Fort, Jama Masjid and a cycle-rickshaw run through Chandni Chowk — with time to reach your onward flight or train. It is deliberately unhurried for the length: the right core of Delhi rather than a rushed checklist, and it folds neatly onto the front of a Golden Triangle or Rajasthan trip.

Day by day
Tap any day to expand. Drive distances and times are realistic approximations, stated up front and traffic-dependent — never hidden. Every day's full plan is on this page even when a day is collapsed.
The day flexes around your arrival time. Land early and we begin with Lutyens' New Delhi before lunch; land later and the imperial core simply shifts to the afternoon. Either way it is the planned capital — the wide ceremonial axis of Kartavya Path up to India Gate, the Rashtrapati Bhavan and Parliament behind their gates — paired with two monuments that need daylight: the soaring Qutub Minar and the garden-tomb of Humayun, whose grander descendant you may well meet on an onward Agra leg. The Lotus Temple at dusk is a quiet, modern close to a monumental day.
Overnight: Delhi
The second day crosses into Mughal Old Delhi, a different city entirely: the red-sandstone Red Fort, the great courtyard of Jama Masjid, and the lanes of Chandni Chowk best seen the honest way — from a cycle-rickshaw, with a guide who knows which spice shop and jalebi stall are worth the stop. Raj Ghat is a calm pause before we plan the rest of the day around your actual departure, whether that is a flight home or the start of a longer North India trip.
