Lakshadweep
Agatti Island Tour Packages
Agatti has the only airport in Lakshadweep, which makes it the entry point for the whole archipelago, and the approach itself — a runway on a sliver of coral with lagoon on both sides — is among the more memorable landings in India. The lagoon is the reason to come: shallow, glass-clear and among the best snorkelling and diving in the country, with visibility that regularly exceeds twenty metres. The single most important thing to know is that **every visitor needs a permit**, Indian nationals included, arranged in advance through the administration and normally handled by your operator. There is no turning up. Alcohol is prohibited across the inhabited islands, accommodation is limited, and flights are few — this is a trip that must be planned months ahead, not weeks.
