Manali travel guide & tour packages

Manali is two places: the crowded new town, and Old Manali and the Solang side, which is why you came. Three nights works because the drives are long — Solang is close, but Rohtang and Atal Tunnel are half-day commitments and entirely weather-dependent. That dependency is the single thing to plan around: Rohtang requires a permit, is closed for much of the year, and no operator can promise it. We confirm status before booking rather than after, which is not universal practice here.

Atal Tunnel & Sissu

Excursion · Full day

Open far more reliably than Rohtang, and the Lahaul side is spectacular.

Village · Half day

Cafés, orchards and the Manu temple. Walkable, and the pleasant half of town.

Hadimba Temple

Cedar forest setting, 16th century. Early morning before the coaches.

Manali FAQs

Will Rohtang Pass be open?

It depends entirely on snow and permits, and nobody can guarantee it. We check status before you commit and will suggest the Atal Tunnel and Sissu instead, which is open far more of the year.

How long is the drive from Delhi?

Twelve hours or so, usually on an overnight Volvo. Flying to Bhuntar cuts it dramatically but the airport is weather-affected.
