Srinagar travel guide & tour packages

Dal Lake and the Mughal gardens are the reason to come, and a houseboat night is the version of Srinagar people remember. The shikara ride at dawn — when the floating vegetable market operates and the lake is still — is genuinely different from the same ride at four in the afternoon. Two nights covers the city and the gardens; three lets you use Srinagar as the base for Gulmarg or Pahalgam as day trips rather than moving hotels. Autumn, when the chinars turn, is the most beautiful and least booked season.

Srinagar FAQs

When should I visit Kashmir?

April to June for tulips and mild weather, September to October for autumn colour, and December to February for snow if you want Gulmarg skiing. Autumn is the most underrated.

Houseboat or hotel in Srinagar?

One night on a houseboat and the rest in a hotel suits most people. Houseboat quality and location vary widely, so ask us which mooring before booking.
